Private Water Line Insurance
Residents of Greenfield,
We have become aware of companies that are offering insurance on the water service lines leading from the City connection to your home. These parties have printed information on their mailing advertisements that may give the impression that the City is a participant of the insurance offer. The City of Greenfield is in no way associated with and does not endorse any insurance program. The Water Utility has the responsibility for the connection from the water main to 4ft beyond the meter pit. After that 4ft the property owner is then responsible and must make any repairs necessary on that line. We would advise that anyone wishing to participate in an insurance program for their water service lines be informed and research the offer properly before proceeding. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact the Water Department at 317-477-4350.

2025 Teen Academy
Applications for the 2025 Greenfield Police Department Teen Academy are now being accepted. The teen academy is FREE for Hancock County residents
Applicants must be 14-17 years of age and have no criminal record.
Meeting Videos

P&L Tree Trimming
Greenfield Power & Light has contracted an arborist, the tree trimming company Clean Slate, to trim limbs away from the power lines. The arborist will contact homeowners in the areas where Clean Slate will be trimming trees. This work will continue throughout the year.

The Greenfield Water Utility will be collecting an inventory survey of all water service line materials. Crews will be working now through Oct 2024. How can you help?
New Police Dept Contact Map
Sanitary Sewer Cleaning
The Greenfield WasteWater Utility will be cleaning the sanitary sewers in Greenfield as an ongoing project. We will be removing debris and tree roots with a combination of high water pressure and tools designed to accomplish the job.
Golf Cart Registrations

In 2017, the Greenfield City Council pased Ordinance 2017-19 allowing the limited use of golf carts on city streets.
