Engineering & Planning

The Department of Engineering and Planning performs the following functions and services:
  • Plan and administer new Public Works projects. 
  • Maintain the City's Geographical Information System (GIS).
  • Function as staff for the Advisory Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Historic Board of Review.
  • Review requests and issue permits for new infrastructure improvements, building construction, remodeling, sign, demolition, and right of way cuts.
  • Maintain Building and Zoning Code compliance.  
  • Inspect construction of buildings and Public Works.
  • Administer compliance with State of Indiana requirements for grants, Indiana Main Street, and Stormwater maintenance.

Anyone using this planroom shall be responsible to return three (3) days prior to the bid open date to check for addenda. It is the contractor's responsibility to acknowledge receipt of any and all addenda in their bid submission.
NOTICE: Electronic versions provided here are for your convenience. Hard copy paper plans purchased through the Clerk Treasurer's Office are considered sealed and final plans. If any discrepancies between the electronic and hard copy paper plans are found, it shall be assumed that the hard copy paper plans control unless otherwise clarified via addendum.
