City of Greenfield Receives OCRA Grant

Greenfield is proud to announce we have been awarded a $500,000 Main Street Revitalization Program grant for the façade renovation of 10 historic buildings in the downtown. The City, along with the building owners and other philanthropic donors provided match valued at $225,758 for a total project budget of $725,758.
Buildings to recieve renovations include:
Chamber Building at 1 Courthouse Plaza
Wolf Law Firm at 6 E Main
Strahl-Apple Law Firm at 8 W Main
Randall Building, (Posh Salon) 2 E Main
Wooden Bear Brewery at 21 W North
Carnegies Restaurant at 100 W North
McCleerey's Sporting Goods at 22 S State
Brand and Morelock Law Firm/Sprinkle CPA at 28-32 S State
Hancock County Art Gallery at 20 N State
Highsmith Guns at 123 N State
The Main Street Revitalization Program (MSRP) is a grant program administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). The goal of MSRP is to encourage Main street communities such as ours to focus on long term community development within the downtown area. This program works in conjunction with the Indiana Main Street Program and the overall goals and strategies for the Main Street revitalization efforts across the state. MSRP is funded with Federal Community Development Block Grant CDBG dollars.
Greenfield building owners received an additional $69,457 granted in Indiana Historic Renovation Grant funds from OCRA for the following buildings.
McCleerey's et al 22-32 S State
LC Thayer Building (Greenfield Fitness) 20 E Main
Construction is slated to begin in late June of 2017 and completed in January of 2018.

P&L Tree Trimming
Greenfield Power & Light has contracted an arborist, the tree trimming company Clean Slate, to trim limbs away from the power lines. The arborist will contact homeowners in the areas where Clean Slate will be trimming trees. This work will continue throughout the year.
