Greenfield Water Construction Road Closure

Greenfield, IN- The City of Greenfield Water Utility is planning a road closure for E. McKenzie the week of 09 October 2023 through the week of 16 October 2023. This closure will be in place for water infrastructure replacement from Allen Lane to Eikenberry Street. The area between Allen and Eikenberry will not be passable except for the residents that live in the area. The Water Utility will have personnel and contractors working to replace water service lines to the homes on the south side of E. McKenzie Rd.
There will be detours in place during the period of construction which is primarily planned for the week of 09 October 2023, with a rain delay week planned for the week of 16 October 2023. The following detour routes will put into be place during the active construction period:
Eastbound traffic: Local Traffic only, from State Road 9 will go south to E. Boyd Street to N. Swope Street to E. McKenzie Rd.
Westbound traffic: Local traffic only, from N. Apple Street and E. McKenzie Road will go E. McKenzie to N. Swope Street to E. Boyd Street to N. State Road 9.
There will be no through traffic during this closure, however local residents will have access to their homes from Swope Street only. There will be electronic and posted signs indicating the detour routes.
