2013 Proposed Sign Ordinance changes
On Jan 14th, 2013 the Plan Commission recommended the City Council adopt a newly revised sign ordinance. A sign ordinance is a reflection of a community’s appetite for beautiful streetscapes balanced against their appetite for economic development. These latest revisions were made in an attempt to be more “business friendly”. Among the changes, you will find that restrictions on temporary signs have been reduced, the allowed size of shopping center signs has been increased, the size and number of allowed wall signs in certain districts has been increased, and the static display of electronic signs has been reduced from 5 minutes to 1 minute. You can review the changes to the sign code by reviewing the below documents.
