Engineering & Planning

The Department of Engineering and Planning performs the following functions and services:

Plan and administer new Public Works projects.
Maintain the City's Geographical Information System (GIS).
Function as staff for the Advisory Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Historic Board of Review.
Review requests and issue permits for new infrastructure improvements, building construction, remodeling, sign, demolition, and right of way cuts.
Maintain Building and Zoning Code compliance.
Inspect construction of buildings and Public Works.
Administer compliance with State of Indiana requirements for grants, Indiana Main Street, and Stormwater maintenance.
