Mayor Brad DeReamer

Brad was born and raised in Griffith (Lake County) Indiana.  He completed his college education with a Masters' Degree in Surveying and Mapping from Purdue University in 1972.  Brad moved to Greenfield in 1973, serving as Hancock County Surveyor.   Along with his wife Sharon, to whom he has been married since 1980, he established several successful businesses in Greenfield, New Palestine and Indianapolis including Hardees Restaurants, a travel agency, a real estate business, and others.

After retiring from his business ventures, Brad pursued another interest by running for, and being elected as, Mayor in 2007.  Brad brings a wealth of professional experience as a businessman and Land Surveyor to serve as Mayor for the City of Greenfield.  This experience and knowledge have helped him and the department heads to streamline operational practices, analyze and use data to make informed decisions, and conserve dollars while providing efficient and effective services to the community.

Brad and Sharon are the proud parents of five children and fourteen grandchildren, including triplets born just before his election to office.  He and Sharon enjoy time with their family and travelling.  They are very active in Rotary.  Brad also enjoys a good game of golf, when time permits.

About the Office: The Mayor's Office is the chief executive office for the City of Greenfield. The Mayor is elected to a four-year term, which will expire next in January, 2012.
