Girls Grades 1-6 No experience necessary. No audition. - All Classes held at MEMORIAL BUILDING GYM.

TUITION: $160.00 resident $172.00 non-resident (can be made in two payments)

UNIFORMS: Purchase of a custom-made uniform is required. It consists of a gold, lycra, embroidered top, Royal blue jazz pants, embroidered, nylon, zip, warm-up jacket and hair bow.

Approximate cost: $130.00 Some used uniforms are available for ½ price.

Members are required to provide white tennis shoes and socks.

The Parks department provides poms for their use.

SCHEDULE OF CLASS ACTIVITY

First 4 classes……………… Learn about warm-ups. Basic technique in positions, poms &

dance. Learn parade routine for Riley Festival Parade.

October – December ………..Uniforms arrive and are passed out

Perform in Riley Festival Parade

Learn floor routine for basketball halftimes.

Perform in “Blue & Gold Revue” with G-C High School team

November ……………..…….Photos taken during class period by professional photographer

Second half of tuition is Due in NOVEMBER

December 9……..…………...Last class before Christmas break. First full member rehearsal (all grade levels)

Star pins awarded

January 6-March 2 ..……….. Both GGG & JBF rehearse together, polishing routine during class time.

6-7:30 p.m. on MONDAYS ONLY (No Wednesdays for JBF)

Performing at local basketball halftimes, G-C dance team competition at

G.C H..S. and an Indiana Pacer game at Conseco. About 6-8 performances.

Goals and Objectives

• Each class will increase their knowledge of warm-up exercises and dance technique.

• Each routine is choreographed to their level of dance so it is fun but challenging.

• To schedule a variety of shows and venues for them to gain performance experience.

• To help them see the goals that have been set, to work toward them and have the satisfaction of attaining those goals with an excellent performance.\

Greenfield Golden Girls – Girls Grades 1-6

Classes Divided by grade levels and years experience.

Poms/Dance instruction to learn basic technique and routines for performances.

1st Semester (Aug 26 - Dec 9): Classes meet once per week on Mondays – All Grades 1-6 = 6:00-7:00 pm

2nd Semester ( Jan 6– March 2): Classes are combined for full rehearsals for one hour on Mondays.

All classes are held at the Memorial Building gym on East North street.

Registration: Aug 1 – August 31

UNIFORM FITTING DAY: Saturday, August 24, at Wilkerson Dance Studio, 1114 W. North St.

Classes: Classes include warm-ups and instruction on stretching, strength and technique, movement and rhythm exercises. Some basic dance technique is taught such as simple turns, spotting, locomotor movements, body positions and poms arms positions. Choreography includes group solos, ripples, kick-line and partner steps. Some simple formation changes are learned in each routine. Members also must learn how to line-up, enter and exit the floor (from either side) for performances.

Members practice their routines honing skills such as timing, memorization, balance, synchronization, and performance.

Performances: Performances include local parade, basketball halftimes at county high schools, G-C dance team competition, and others to be announced. A Performance and awards night is held the last class of the season. All students receive an award pin and special participant trophy.

• To give them the experience of being on a dance team, learning the discipline of working together in a group, getting along with classmates and following directions.

• To gain self-confidence and poise through their many and varied performance opportunities.

• To set goals, work toward them, attain them and be rewarded for a job well done.
