Senior Center

The Greenfield Senior Center, located in the Patricia Elmore Center, is dedicated to the interests and needs of our older citizens. It is a community facility in which older adults can meet to fulfill many social, recreational and educational needs.

The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A hot lunch is served daily at 11:30 a.m. through "Meals on Wheels". Meal reservations are required and may be made by calling (317) 477-4345. Transportation to and from the Center is available on a daily basis for those who live within the city limits.

The Senior Center offers a wide range of regularly scheduled programs and classes which include, but not limited to, cards, crafts, movies, guest speakers, travelogues and a variety of local and extended trips. Special events such as holiday parties, celebrations, picnics, entertainment and other outings are offered throughout the year. The Center also provides a free tax assistance program form February 1 through April 15. A monthly newsletter is published and can be picked up at the Center or mailed for a small charge.

The Greenfield Senior Center is in need of volunteer instructors for woodworking, painting, ceramics, etc. If you are interested in arranging classes, contact Kim Voorhis at (317) 477-4343 or by e-mail at seniors@greenfieldin.org.

The Patricia Elmore Center-Active Adult/Senior Center is ideal for reading, watching tv, playing pool, exercising, playing the Nintendo Wii in a game of bowling with friends, coffee, cards/games, horse shoes, bingo, going on a golf outing, visiting local garage sales, participating in local shopping, and much more! There is so much to do. Tell a friend and don't miss out on the fun! Best of all, most programs are free! We want to hear about what you want.
