Heavy Trash Pickup
The City of Greenfield plans a two-week program to rid city properties of heavy items. Street Commissioner, Jim Hahn announced that the 32nd Annual Heavy Pick-up would be as follows:
April 19th for residents on the east side of State Road 9
April 26th for residents on the west side of State Road 9
Trash will only be picked up inside of the CITY LIMITS.
The eastern section will include properties east of State Road 9 to the City limits. The west side will include properties west of State Road 9 to the City limits.
Residents wanting items hauled away must call in so they can be placed on a list for pick-up, also any resident wishing to have a refrigerator, air conditioner, freezer and electronics picked up should say so when calling in. A special truck will go around and pick those items up. Items for pick-up should be placed at curbside by 7:00 am on both Saturdays. No items will be picked up in alley.
Calls for the east side pick-up must be in no later than noon on April 18th, the west side until noon on April 25th. Residents must call the Street Department for pick-up at 477-4380.
Once again this year there will be no household trash, limbs, tires, oil, batteries or other items designated by The Street Commissioner, picked up. Paint will be picked only when it is dry and in open containers.
As it was last year, the city will not pick up any building materials.
