Hancock County Veterans Park - Purpose

bronze-gi

To all the Fallen Heroes and all past and present service members who unselfishly served or continue to put themselves in harms way in order that we can be free, Thank You.

A Hancock County Veterans Park has been created in the way of a visible and inviting garden/park that will ensure the service of every American Veteran with ties to Hancock County will be remembered in a permanent way. This is a hallowed ground to show the respect and honor that our Hancock County Veterans deserve.

All gave some... Some gave all

The approximate 290 military personnel that lost their lives in times of war will be documented in a major focal point, but this is not a war memorial. This park honors all Hancock County veterans who dedicated a part of their life to serve in the military. Not all veterans came under fire, not all veterans served in time of war. Yet every vets service helped keep this country strong, safe and free. They need to be remembered for that.

This Veterans Park is located in the heart of the Hancock County seat. It cannot be sustained without your help. The Veterans Park contains hundreds of Granite Brick Pavers, and the ongoing sale of Granite Pavers will provide the funding to ensure that our park is well maintained into the future. Each paver bears the names and other information of Veterans with Hancock County ties. Granite pavers can be ordered on the "Donate" page. That is the purpose of this Veterans Park. All service of all veterans should be remembered.
